Commander asks political parties to refrain from involving RFMF in campaigns The political parties must, during their political campaign, leave the Republic of Fiji Miliatry Force alone. RFMF Commander Brigadier-General Mosese Tikoitoga reiterated that the RFMF was apolitical. ‘‘They should be rest assured that under my command the RFMF would obey, defend and protect the constitution,’’ he said. He had already made this clear to journalists this week. He was appointed to lead the RFMF in place of Commodore (Ret.) Voreqe Bainimarama who stood down to contest in the national elections. “We will of course, also continue to defend and protect our nation, assist its people and contribute to a better world through our peacekeeping efforts with the United Nations.” The RFMF plans not to be involved in preparations for the elections.
