Community Cats Coalition Animal Control Officers are Building Feral Cat Winter Homes Wish our great Worcester County Animal Control would do this. Everyone PLEASE remember that Animal Control & Worcester Co. Humane Society are two different entities! Ive had so many people call me & say that they saw a stray/feral cat & thought they were doing good by calling Animal Control, whom they thought WAS the Humane Society!!!!!! You are signing the cats death warrant when you call Animal Control. They will come out, trap the cat & kill it. They dont even cover the trap & the cat has to ride back to the shelter scared out of its mind, with no cover over it to keep it calm! They just put up a new FB page giving themselves kudos for having an adoption center. BUT they dont tell the public the truth! Feral & stray cats that are brought into their facility are immediately killed! IF the cat even acts scared, cowers in his trap or lunges at the person who is poking it with a stick, they immediately label the cat as FERAL & kill it! I have tried to promote, educate & explain TNR to them, but the adamantly refuse to listen & preach all feral cats have rabies & must be killed to protect the public. The Chief even said that they dont recognize managed feral colonies. First they complain about rabies. SO we fix them, vaccinate them out of our own pocket & put them back & the Chief makes that kind of statement. Sometimes I feel like Im batting my head against a brick wall! 39 other states recognize that TNR is the only humane solution for homeless cats & I have to be in a county where they are still living in the dark ages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ow.ly/i/7rU84
