Community to say goodbye to Stephen F. Byus this weekend WELLSTON, Ohio — The community will say goodbye to hometown hero Stephen F. Byus this weekend. Final arrangements have been set. McWilliams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and released early Tuesday that a public visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Wellston High School (WHS). The community will say their last goodbyes on Sunday at Byuss funeral, which begins at 2 p.m. His funeral is set to take place at WHS with John Pelletier, CLP officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson with military honors by the Navy Operational Support Center of Columbus. ... ... The 39-year-old of Reynoldsburg, was a Wellston native. He died Tuesday, September 16, in Kabul, Afghanistan from injuries received from a suicide bomber attack. Reportedly, Byus had volunteered to assist the Afghan National Army in improving its logistics capabilities.
