Comparisons, competition and criticism seem heavily prevalent these days, and I notice it a lot in the music field. We play a tune, sing a song, whistle, scream and bang on drums. We paint pictures, draw shadows and forms, make sculptures and decorate with beautiful colors. Creative expression and talent comes in all forms, from music to art to cooking to gardening to decorating to designing to building and organizing, fashion, theatrics, philosophy, writing, engineering, science, planning etc etc etc. Creative expression should not be right vs wrong, better vs worse, winners vs losers. We are each an amazing tiny grain of sand in the scope of all of the incredible talent that has existed before us, exists around us and will be born into the world when we are gone. This competitive spirit needs to go if you ask me. I think we would do better to do our best, celebrate accomplishments with each other and cheer each other on :) Rock your weekend everyone!
