Concerned about water and the upcoming season? Who isnt, right? Right smack dab in the middle of our 2014 State Convention activities this weekend, we will host a Water Forum with Q & A session. Thats THIS Saturday, July 19th from 11:00 – 12:15 pm at our headquarters in Roseville. This interactive forum, which will include participation from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of Fish and Wildlife, Northern California Water Association and Grasslands Water District, will not only provide an update of anticipated fall water availability for many public and private wetlands, but also offer an opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions of water and habitat managers. Water curtailments and other drought-related factors will likely affect the timing and duration of flooding for many wetlands and post-harvest rice fields this waterfowl season, which may impact hunting opportunities, food resources for wintering waterfowl and the severity of any waterfowl disease outbreaks.
