Confusion in Bayelsa as Sylva’s loyalists declare for Baraje-led PDP. Yenagoa — The Peo-ples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bayelsa State, may be heading for a fresh crisis, following the emergence of a group, new Bayelsa PDP, led by loyalists of former Governor Timipre Sylva. The new Bayelsa PDP is led by former Security Adviser to Sylva, Chief Richard Kpodoh. Others include the former Publisher of Spynet Magazine and close associate of the former governor, Mr. Sidi Godwin, the former Commissioner for Water Resources, Chief Francis Itiokeife, the former Local Government Area Chairman of Kolokuma-Opokuma, Mr. Ineye Ingbaifegha, Sir Tonye Okio, Alabo Martins, Abel Ogboma, Timi Frank, Abule Okara and Braboke Stanley. The new Bayelsa PDP, in an advertorial in one of the national dailies, said: “Let the old PDP impunity and injustice pass away and a new dawn break over Nigeria with the new authentic PDP.” A source, who spoke anonymously, said the “real” PDP members in Bayelsa State are regrouping and have pledged loyalty to the Alhaji Kawu Baraje and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola-led faction of PDP.
