Congratulations to Stefan Prins (Flanders) for being selected as the winner of the ISCM Young Composers Award today for his work Piano Hero #1. Mr. Prins will receive a commission from the ISCM (supported by Music on Main in Vancouver, Canada) for a new work to be performed at a future festival. It has been a great pleasure coordinating this award this year! Many thanks to the amazing jury, Tomoko Fukui, Eva Lopszyc, and Javier Hagen, and to all the organizers at the ISCM World Music Days Wroclaw 2014. The jury also acknowledged Hannes Dufek, Yair Klartag, and Dmitry Timofeev as honorary mentions for their excellent pieces.
