Consultation workshop seeks improved productivity and sustainable incomes for 4Ps beneficiaries BY: LYNDON PLANTILLA QUEZON CITY, Aug. 5 (PIA): Sharing of resources among government agencies would strengthen and complement various programs like the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps) developed for the poor and vulnerable sectors. This is the direction that the 1st Regional Island Cluster-Regional Director’s Consultation Workshop, hosted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Mimaropa, will be taking from August 5-8, 2014 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The consultation-workshop will tackle convergence as a means of increasing productivity among 4Ps beneficiaries to bring about sustainable incomes. “We mainly cater to our Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries but not rely on the program alone to help them uplift their lives. We are converging our efforts and all the possible programs and services of the different government agencies in providing them with the capacity to sustain progress and well-being even after they graduate from the program,” said DSWD-Mimaropa Regional Director Wilma D. Naviamos. During the consultation - workshop, updates on the implementation of 4Ps will be presented particularly with the extension of age coverage of the program to 18 years old. The 4Ps is a human development program of the national government that invests in the health and education of poor households, particularly of children aged 0-18 years old. (LP/PIAMimaropa)
