Cottage pie. 1- finely dice onion and garlic, fry in oil on a medium heat. 2- once brown add finely diced celery, carrot and leek. Fry until coloured and sweet. 3- add minced beef, season well. High heat. 4- once browned add 2tbsp tom purée stir through. 5- add 5 tbsp plain flour, cook out for 5 mins. 6- gradually add beef stock a ladle at a time between 750ml. Reduce heat to medium and stir every minute until mixture is thick. 7- add 2 ladles of baked beans, check seasoning and ladle into your preferred oven dish. ( deep frying/sautée pans are easiest to clean ;) ) 8- leave to stand for 30 mins to firm. 9- add mash mixture and bake for 45 mins at 180c until golden and bubbling. ( will do separate mash recipe ) Much love ling xx P.s works out about £2 per person, if not cheaper!!
