Court went well. In negotiations on a misdemeanor. Probably assault, lawyer is shooting for no probation with time served, and fines. Of course well see if it works out that way. Still going to suck paying money, but another petty charge on the record is no comparison to waiting out a possible higher charge. Even with my cards in line, I would rather admit to a crime that I feel was an act of display for self defense then risk ruining my record for good. Has my faith been restored? Not exactly. I still will never know if I am so paranoid that my judgment lapsed. I know my comments were enough to set the average person off, and this still has me and the evidence quite geared towards self defense. But my record proceeds me, and with my labels, I am stuck falling into the assumptions behind those labels.
