Critical Mass is a great vehicle for bringing people together; we all ride bikes, enjoy each others company, and we all like to explore this wonderful city. In light of this, it has been suggested that social rides throughout the month be advertised (either on this page or on an off-shoot of this page) so that we can meet up more often and indulge in our favourite activity. Some rides might be longer/shorter, faster/slower, off-road/on road, etc., but given the diversity of riders that we have at the end of the month it seems likely that there will be something for everyone. Anyone is free to propose a ride, and anyone is free to attend. In order to get this idea off the ground, there is a ride that has been proposed for this afternoon! Meeting at 17:30 at the bottom of the Quartermile (on the meadows), we will head down to the beach, grab some nachos, pootle about, and head back into town (probably along the River Almond route). It will be a casual ride, taking anywhere from 2-4hrs. It should be suitable for all bikes, except perhaps those with super skinny road tyres (standard hybrid bikes should be fine). Its not a protest ride, so we will be making use of Edinburghs superb innertube as much as possible (innertubemap/)!
