Cross Notes, Wednesday, August 7 - Have you ever bought something and it said right there on the outside of the box, “Assembly Required.” I know the first thing all you men do is open that box and find the instruction manual so you can find out how to put it together correctly! NOT! Most men never look at the instructions. Only if they really get confused will they look at the instructions, and then only if they think nobody will see them do it! And ladies, you may see the photo of a pretty dish on Facebook or Pinterest, and think, “that sure looks good; I think I can make that”. Do you go to the cabinet and start putting things in a bowl and hope it turns out right? No, if you want the dish to turn out right, you follow the recipe. In life, if you want to live life to the fullest, if you want to experience true happiness in life, if you want to be satisfied and content with your life….You have to follow the instructions! There is a recipe for life, and if you do what it says, your life will be better for it. God’s Word gives us the “how-to” for living life. God’s Word teaches us what to do to have a “happy” and “contented” life. All you have to do is follow the instructions! But most people live frustrated and unfulfilled lives, and they are not happy, because they refuse to follow the instruction manual (Bible). They just throw some things at life and hope for the best, instead of following the recipe for success. (From the sermon “The Be-Happy-Tudes” Cross Roads Baptist Church 8/4/13)
