Current Ghana U20 side not that special - ace journalist Kwabena Yeboah ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ace journalist Kwabena Yeboah has commended the immense team spirit of the Ghana U20 side but says they are nowhere close to some of the great sides produced in recent times. The Black Satellites have recovered from a disastrous start to their World Cup campaign to progress all the way to the semi finals of the tournament being staged in Turkey. Ghana will now be coming up against France – a side they lost to earlier in the competition on Wednesday for a place in Sunday’s final. With the team winning over many of their critics with their immense fighting spirit, some are quick to draw comparisons with between the current side and some of the great junior teams in the past. Veteran journalist Yeboah however says the current side are not as good as some of the great junior teams in the past though admitting to the team’s immense fighting spirit. “I will not suggest for a moment that this is one of the best junior sides we have had in recent times,” he told Takoradi-based Melody FM. “But we have to be fair to the team because this is a team that has gone through a lot of transitions. “So you don’t expect them to play that kind of exhilarating football and the same time give you quite a number of goals. “But in the midst of the difficulties I think this team deserves a great deal of credit and kudos for defying all the odds and amidst all the criticisms and in some cases naked insults haven come this far to the semi finals.”
