Customer Service Corner, October 24, 2013 All About People: Find a company that treats its people as its most valuable resource and you will have found a successful company. A product or service will either be enhanced or diminished by the people providing it. Anne Mulcahy said, “Employees are a company’s greatest asset – they’re your competitive advantage. You want to attract and retain the best; provide them with encouragement, stimulus and make them feel that they are an integral part of the company’s mission.” In other words - it’s all about people! I am amazed and humbled often by the sales people with whom I work. They are hard-working, motivated, honest, reliable and are driven to be successful. In the past calendar year, cancer has affected two members of our team, yet they continue to inspire the rest of us with their amazing attitudes and strength of faith. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work with many encouraging people in my 22-year career, yet none more inspirational than the current group of sales team members whom I am proud to call teammates. I urge leaders everywhere to take inventory of the people on their respective teams. Believe in them, support them, encourage them, show compassion and understanding when they have hard times, cheer them on when they reach and exceed goals.
