Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby recently donated no longer needed cabinets, shelving, tables, office equipment, and furniture to the Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity. Lakes Area Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate out of Brainerd that is a member of a world wide effort to eliminate poverty housing. They service all of Cass, Crow Wing and Hubbard counties and have built homes on the Mille Lacs Reservation. The organization partners with local businesses, volunteers, clubs and churches to help build homes for qualifying families. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses.
