DAILY CHRISTIAN WISDOM Friday, 25/07/2014 [Month of faith renewal] THE KING SOLOMON’S FAITH {1 Kings 3:3-4} FOCUS TEXT Solomon showed his love for the LORD by walking according to the statutes of his father David, except that he offered sacrifices and burned incense on the high places. The king went to Gibeon to offer sacrifices, for that was the most important high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that alter. (1 Kings 3:3&4 NIV). Believers in God through Jesus Christ you are blessed. Praise the Lord; our souls extol You forever, amen. Today’s Christian Wisdom is a word of wisdom for the believers. Our Focus Text (1 Kings 3:3-4) is portioned out of the story of King Solomon in the bible. “Without faith no one can please God.” This saying finds its interpretation in every aspect of our walk with God. There were many King that the bible took record of, but there are distinct people that were not mere kings; one of them is the King Solomon. This great king was counted faithful. “Solomon showed his love for the Lord by walking according to the statutes of his father David.” What faith! it took Solomon faith to believe in the God of his father David and to walk according to his father’s ways as touching services to God, and in all things, he demanded God’s leading; this is faith. Solomon loved pleasure and was a lover king, but he still has a testimony of faith of which the bible took note of, and which is our concentration today as believers. Even when God presented Solomon an open cheque to sign whatever he pleased, the King Solomon wrote wisdom, and in reality, God blessed him with wisdom and riches. It takes faith to have a record with God. MAIN LINE: God does not necessarily need us to follow His rules and regulations; He needs us to establish a good relationship with Him, such that He can access us whenever He wants to do something on earth. PRAYER: Father, help me to exhibit faith in You and have a good record in Jesus’ name.
