DAILY DOSES OF FAITH: A Preacher and his preaching - Part I: Where does he gets the mandate to preach what he preaches? Introduction ¤ Have you ever asked yourself a question like, who or what is the source of your preaching? ¤ Where should we draw or get the mandate to preach? And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me me. Go therefore make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:18-20). ¤ Therefore, the source of our preaching is Jesus Christ. - Jesus Christ has all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, He commands us and teaches us with authority to preach His Word. - We therefore, must speak as speaking the words of God, and preach, minister or serve by ability that God gives us so that in everything He (God) could glorified through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 4:11). ¤ The source of our preaching is Jesus Christ and His Word. He talk to us through the scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Conclusion ¤ As preachers, where do we get the mandate to preach what we preach? Answer: We are commanded by Jesus Christ who has all authority in both heaven and on earth. Therefore, preachers are encouraged not to preach another gospel other than that which is commanded by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Source of our preaching. Stay blessed in the Lord.
