DAY 15 – A SARCASTIC ANSWER Why should the nations say, “Where, now, is their God?” But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. (Psalm 115:2-3) There are two ways we could consider a response to the above question. Either we shrug our shoulders because we don’t have a clue what God is doing or where He is; OR it’s nana…nana…nana, you’re a fool for asking such a question. The problem is, “Where, now is their God?”, could be a legitimate question, but even if it is a taunt, there’s a better way to answer. The Apostle Peter talked about giving an answer in the midst of a dangerous situation: Do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence. One of the benefits of being in His Presence is that some of his attributes rub off. Jesus tells us: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” The next time someone asks you a question about where is your God, and it may be sarcastic, give them a gentle answer, because you’ve been in the presence of a gentle and loving God.
