DEAR all, anyone of your have got no time to go through DRF descriptions, here we are to make things clear again. We are not NGO nor shelter, thus we dont receive donation regularly, and we cant take in your rescued ones and bear all the cost of your own rescue, as you and i make no difference. What we do is to help people like us, give them guidance and raise medical fund for their rescue. Last but no least, people who asked for help but not wanting to get involved, sorry to say, you are not welcome in DRF page. NEED HELP FROM US? there are rules to be followed, HOW and WHAT should YOU do, : * Seeking help to rescue an animal? Are you ready and qualified to help the animal? What are you suppose to do at the moment you met an injured or any animal that caught your eyes? Animal rescuer, a noble job that require so much of your free time, doesnt bring you a cent, from the moment you decided to call for help youve became one, you and i make no difference, let us bring you through how and what are the responsibilities, The responsibilities as a rescuer - 1) The 1st person sighted the animal, calling for help. 2) Carry out rescue mission/appeal volunteers to work on rescue mission. 3) Bring the animal to vet for a check up, provide necessary treatments, to make sure no contiguous diseases. 4) Look for a free fosterer ( rescuer should provide food and bear the medical cost) / paid fosterer, or keep the animal at home for temporary if space permitted. 5) Rehome/release after neutered : a) Rehome - if the animal is friendly and able to trust human, get him/her ready for adoption, there are various way to do that, create post at pet finder and NGOs page etc, raise fostering/ medical funds if rescuer need so, either by themselves (pls reveal the bill and updates on donors name and amount contributed constantly to prevent any conflicts and misunderstanding occur) or using Damai rescue Force as a platform, get the estimated bill with vet name and contact number, plus pictures of the animal is being treated in the vet (fund received will be paid to vet directly, donors name and amount will be listed out in DRF page as well) pls understand that there is no promise of the amount raised could cover all the expenses, on the other hand, if we were fortunate to have raised extra fund, it will be used to support TNR project TRAP-NEUTER-RELEASE and MANAGE. (amount used for any of the above will be announced in DRF page too) b) Release - send the animal for neutering surgery + notch one of the ear and release back to the place where u found him/her (provided that place is safe) provide food and clean water everyday. If the place is unsafe for the animal, please seek help from NGOs which is able to provide shelter to the animal, they have terms and conditions to be followed, do check. P/S : pls visit and bathe the animal if possible, as shelter workers have so much workload everyday, be responsible to take care of your own rescued kids :) 6) interview potential adopter(s), and pick the most suitable home for the animal 7) pay home visit once a month or depends on your own available schedule. 8) follow up neutering appointment of the animal with adopter. 9) visit the neutered animal at vet on surgery day and pay the vet whatever deposit that collected from adopter earlier while agreed on the adoption. 10) keep in touch with adopter. These are the basic rules to be a responsible rescuer, there are too many people get confused and thought being a rescuer is just rescue and rescue, we are here to clear the air, anyone can be a rescuer, but pls follow the rules dont break it as if you dont, you are going to burden other rescuer :)
