DEWEY GUIDA Dewey, along with his brothers Jim and Tony, - TopicsExpress

DEWEY GUIDA Dewey, along with his brothers Jim and Tony, represents another person(s) who makes me and likely should make you STEUBENVILLE PROUD. The Guidas lived next to the Harding school underpass at Langley and Sunset Blvd. One could not think they were of wealth when growing up but they were rich in Family and the American dream, all having a strong work ethic. All went to CCHS back in the late 50s & early 60s and then entered the world to make it on their own without government aid. Brothers Tony and Jim became successful real estate brokers in their own right in the Steubenville/Weirton area while Dewey , working 24/7 , took an idea about food and ran with it all the way to success. It wasnt and remains a hard path, especially keeping food quality up and managing a staff of younger people who are themselves always struggling with domestic and work commitments. Anyone who ever ran or worked in a restaurant knows how hard Dewey had to work at his dream alive. Today the dream is known as DEE JAYS, the best ribs restaurant of its kind anywhere, period! When I walk in there it is like walking into a TV episode of Cheers. If Dewey is there he makes me feel welcomed with a big hug. He makes me feel STEUBENVILLE PROUD, not only in the personal recognition he gives me but in the toughness of his commitment to serving others. Hardworking people, like Dewey, are Steubenville people. Isnt it just great to come from a small blue collar town to be part of a community mixed with color and religious beliefs to know and appreciate good , industrious , successful people like Dewey? Write your stories of people you know who make you proud of your hometown. Let others know of people you know who make you STEUBENVILLE PROUD.
