Firefighters from DFPA, Tri-City Fire Department, and Canyonville – South Umpqua Fire Department arrived on scene of the fire at 8:15 a.m. and stopped the fire at 1/2 an acre of grass. The fire was started by a faulty exhaust system on a vehicle. “The frequency and size of fires recently in Douglas County show that we are in High Fire Danger” says DFPA Fire Prevention Specialist Kyle Reed. “Residents are urged to use caution when working or recreating in wildland areas.” DFPA has increased fire restrictions effective today with a Regulated Use Closure for the general public and by moving to Industrial Fire Precaution Level 2.
