DIEGO COSTA CHELSEA TOP TRANSFER TARGET -------------------------------------- Chelsea are ready to go all out to sign Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid in the summer after making him their top transfer target. Blues boss Jose Mourinho has told the club’s hierarchy that signing a world class striker should be the priority during the summer transfer window. And despite links to Luis Suarez,Gonzalo Higuain,Wayne Rooney&Radamel Falcao,Mourinho is believed to have told Chelsea that Costa is the man he wants. The Brazil-born Spain striker is enjoying another stunning season in La Liga,scoring 21 goals in 26 matches&establishing himself as 1 of the best forwards in Europe. His form has not gone unnoticed,with Real Madrid&PSG linked to his services,but Chelsea believe they are in pole position to sign him. Mourinho’s men have an excellent relationship with Atletico after loaning them GK Thibaut Courtois,&although the glovesman won’t be allowed to remain with them next term,it has not damaged contact between the clubs. Atletico are well aware of Costa’s rising stock&are already looking for another striker to fill the gap,with offers certain to arrive for their leading light in the summer. Chelsea are thought to value Costa at £27M – an amount below his release clause,but a fee that could be accepted if the player pushes for a switch away. The Blues will open formal negotiations at the end of the season in a bid to tie up the player’s services before the World Cup. #zesty
