DO HIS WILL! I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ - TopicsExpress

DO HIS WILL! I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. ---II Timothy 4:1-5 Each worker had a job to do on the construction site and as it was done faithfully each day and day by day and by doing so the site was transformed. Once a wooded area, now the site had a vast clearing with immaculate landscaping and a huge building of many stories built to house offices. Each worker sought to fulfill their obligations each day to bring about the completed project and it was finished. According to the above passage some of the major ministry of spiritual leader laborers is preaching, teaching and evangelism. There needs to be a proclamation of the Word, an explanation of the Word and an announcement of the Good News of the Word to the lost. This is all part of the process of discipleship. Notice in the passage above that the charge is to be a faithful laborer for the Lord God Almighty and is prefaced on the fact that He is coming in judgment. We are to labor to get people ready for that time--- seeking to reach the lost with His Word for salvation and seeking to encourage the saints with His Word for sanctification to understand our special holy and set apart position to the Lord God. In the passage above we are to be faithful even when people won’t endure sound teaching but will gather to themselves teachers to suit their own passions, turning away from the truth, wandering off after myths. We are to be vigilantly minded, enduring suffering, doing the work of an evangelist by proclaiming the Good News and carrying out fully the ministry work the Lord has given us. How are you and I doing in this admonition from the Lord? Truly, may we be faithful to His desires for us! Dear Father, help me to faithful to Your desires for my life. Oh, that I would be about Your business and not seek to sit back in a comfortable lifestyle. Please guide me into what Your work is for the remainder of my life that I may honor You in the Name of the Lord Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. May it be so!
