DOC WOLFF’S WOOD TONIC AND SNAKE Oil. I want to thank everyone for your support of my Doc Wolff’s line of wood care products. I was notified today that our local Ace Hardware wants two cases of Wood Tonic, one for their store across from Smiths and one for their main store on the south side of Taos. I am guessing that someone from FaceBook talked to someone at the Rio Grande Ace for me, so whoever you are, thanks. I have been asked in several messages, what are these products used for and are they any good. So I will start with the last question first.., of course they are good otherwise I wouldn’t be offering them. As a woodworker and wood carver I have worked with a number of wood finishing products over the decades and other then my Doc Wolff series, I still use and sell Howard wood care products. We both use the highest quality natural products. My Snake Oil is a modification of their Feed-N-Wax along with Tung Oil and some Turpentine to encourage deeper penetration into the wood. The Snake Oil is mainly for interior use whereas the Wood Tonic has been formulated with UV inhibitors making ideal for wood exposed to e~1erior conditions such as rain and especially the sun. The reason ‘have chose to use natural products that are designed to penetrate into the wood rather then pay products which sit on the surface ofthe wood is two fold. First Poly products tend to cloud up over time and when they start to break down you have to completely remove them and then refinish. Penetrating finishes soak deeply into the wood which brings out the woods natural beauty and they can be built up. With penetrating oil finishes you can reapply as often as you want, to revive the woods beauty and will never have to use a stripper to remove the finish. Lastly I would like to thank everyone for their interest in these two products. Both products come in a 500 mI plastic containers and may be purchased at Randall’s Hardware and both Ace Rio Grande Hardware stores in Taos, from Mark or myself at the Taos Gorge Bridge, or online at TRWolff, Shop-Taos, Etsy, and TaosGuide.net. Thank for your time, Terry Wolff
