DRAGON BOAT RACES, SUNDAY 21 DECEMBER Captains’ briefing note: TEAM FORMS These should have been completed by 18 December, but late entries and other changes can be made on the day of the race. INDEMNITY FORMS Please ensure that indemnity forms are completed for all paddlers – some teams may have more than the ten required for the race, in order to rotate if necessary. All participants will be issued with a wrist band when their indemnity forms are completed. No one will be permitted to board a boat without a wrist band. REGISTRATION Registration begins at 8am. All participants must be registered by 9am and be available for the briefing at that time. RACE RULES Race rules will be prominently displayed at Registration. Please ensure that all participants adhere to the rules. DEMONSTRATION At 12 midday on Saturday 20 December there will be a training/demonstration session in the area of the SANParks basin. It may be possible for members of teams to join Monte Dragons crew and to see what paddling feels like, so if you’re keen, come along! ENTRY FREES If possible please pay in advance by EFT. Please reference your payment with the name of your team. Please let me know if you would like a space allocated for your team. FOOD Apart from all the restaurants, food will also be available in the open space between Quay Four and Sirocco (light meals, cool drinks). SECURITY Please make arrangements for the safe keeping of all your team’s belongings, especially while paddling. SPOT PRIZES Apart from the two dragon trophies, and medals for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams in each category, spot prizes and team prizes will be awarded at the prize giving ceremony after the event. Prizes are available for such things as team spirit, team dress, team perseverance – this is not a final or definitive list – but be creative!
