Day #1 of (Why mommy named me( Punkin Pooh) I got a comment - TopicsExpress

Day #1 of (Why mommy named me( Punkin Pooh) I got a comment from a friend that said he liked the names of my cats. And also a long time back, someone had told me that theyd like to hear the story behind my cats names. So today I am starting with Punkin and how I came to get his name: At the time we got Punkin, the apartments we managed in Oshkosh, Wi. had just passed the rule that their tenants could have pets with a deposit. My husband pleaded with the company for months and months to allow our tenants to have pets. Many of them wanted one, including myself. My husband told the company for months on end, that pets were not dirty.....and if they appeared to be, it was because of the owner. Finally on November 1st of 2001, it was passed to allow tenants to get a pet. My hubby called me that very moment from the main office and said I could begin looking for a cat. After hanging up the phone, I grabbed a newspaper and started looking under pets. I called one number and the lady said she had one kitten left. I got the address and we drove there later that afternoon. She lead us out to her barn and there stood a great big box...it was as high up as my chest. I looked down in the box and I reached in and picked up the little kitten. The first words from my mouth was well hi you little Punkin Thus the name stuck in my head. After getting home with our new kitten, I began pondering a middle name. After about an hour, I said Pooh....after Winnie the Pooh. So this is why my name is Punkin Pooh. Upon asking the lady if she knew when the kitten was born, she said yes, it was the day before 911. How fortunate to know his real birthday. Right away this kitten took a shining to my hubby. I kept telling him, little kitty, Im the one that wanted you. Please love me. So when hubby would go off to do his work every day...I would go find Punkin and rub him and let him know I was there for him. Finally one wonderful day I was in my basement making some hand stamped greeting cards, and my little kitten decided to join me at my stamping table. He lay down on top of the card I was working on, so I just let him lay there as long as he wanted. So every morning after that, he came to join me. And we found that special bond with each other. Stay tuned for Day 2 and why my brothers name came to be Charlie Clarence.
