Day 2 – Before Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; - TopicsExpress

Day 2 – Before Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth and sing for joy and sing praises. Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout joyfully before the King, the Lord. (Psalm 98:4-6 NAS) There’s a common little word that is repeated only twice, and may be the most important word in the Psalm. The word is before. The first time it appears is in verse 6. The second is in verses 8 and 9: Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy before the LORD. The first time the trumpets and the horn shout joyfully before the Lord. The second time the rivers clap and the mountains sing together for joy before the Lord. Why is this word so noteworthy? When you look up the Hebrew definition of the word, most of time it is translated as before. But just what is it that we are coming before? Well, we’re coming before the LORD. But there are more definitions and translations. One definition is face; another is presence. So we’re not just coming before a title or a name, we’re coming before His very presence; we’re coming before His face. And here is the only and proper place where we must find our perspective. And that’s Living Life in Context. Read Psalm 98
