Day 272 When Guilt Causes Me to Hide to From God Dear God, Like Adam and Eve, my first response after disobeying you is to try to hide. And yet, after they sinned, the first thing you did was to pursue them. Even though their actions had severe consequences and forever changed the way they related to you, the Bible makes clear that you had no intentions of completely severing your relationship with them over sin. Could you feel the same for me? Even though I try to conceal myself, do you come to search me out? It is hard to understand that kind of unconditional love, but Im so thankful that you never give up on me after Ive disobeyed you. I often try to hide because I feel guilt over what Ive done, but now I understand that you allow me to experience those emotions so I will realize my sin and ask for your forgiveness. Guilt is not meant to drive me away from you but to bring me back into your relationship with you. Your faithful pursuit of me is a beautiful call to friendship with you.
