Day 3 of the 3 for 5 FB art challenge. Thanks Karen Walker for nominating me! Today I nominate Sue Schultz. Okay, I have a special one for you today-- I’m featuring illustrations of one of the characters from my book and how he has. . . or hasn’t. . . evolved over the years. This is Rohr, my red dragon. I invented him (or should I say her, Rohr was originally female) when I was in late middle school or early high school. I abandoned that particular story, but the dragon lived on and Lore (my book that yesterday’s illustrations were from) eventually evolved from him. I dug the original picture of Rohr out of the closet and also included some other images of him over the years. Since his invention, his ears have turned into horns, he’s lost his white belly, and he lost his ‘baby fat. But what I find more interesting is how much he has stayed the same. These pictures also show how my illustration style has evolved. Enjoy!
