Day 30! Today we finished up with OT and Speech. We have packed up almost everything and loaded the car. We have one more feed left in the morning and then we wait for discharge. We have gone from no measurable oral feeds or drinking to a reduction of the pump by 45% a day. She previously took dots on the back of the spoon and now take small scoops of blended foods. She drinks pediaSure with a medicine cup and a cut straw. We see this 3 month experience starting with day patient and ending with inpatient as a huge success. The hospital will review us returning once she is 60% tube free. Our goal is December so that we dont have to miss any work. This experience has been powerful, humbling, exhausting and rewarding. Thank you to the numerous friends and family that have supported us through this trying time. It is amazing to know that we have so many people that are there for us. Thank you again.
