Day 5 of 5, #3potsadayfor5. These mandala sculptures of extinct and endangered animals, based on some image from the drawings of John Gould and old photographs, are narrative works. They are embedded with stories of extinction by guns, logging, feral animals, essentially humans interfering with their habitats and lives. This work is showing me some new directions that 2015 will take me. So thanks one more time to Wendy Britton and Su Brown (and Anna Marie for just being so supportive to the emerging Australian ceramicists). For my last nomination I would like Tricia Bradford to show some of her paintings and mixed media work. I wish I could keep going, I have really enjoyed this project, and I hope something similar will emerge soon.
