Day-Five of the five day art challenge. I’ve been trying to show - TopicsExpress

Day-Five of the five day art challenge. I’ve been trying to show paintings and sketches mostly not seen to keep this somewhat fresh.....I hope it was. Anyway, switching gears here a little. I had a commission to do some desert themed paintings for a client. He wanted a Saker falcon which range from Africa to Asia and everywhere in between and the beautiful Dorcas gazelle found in northern Africa and western Arabia. Both subjects appealed to me because I hadn’t painted them before. The Saker is a very handsome large falcon that I depicted just as he was ruffling his feathers 30x24 acrylic and oil on masonite. The head study was a warm up sketch for the finished gazelle painting 16.5 x 11.5 acrylic on paper. The Dorcas group was fun to do, as I got to portray multiple gazelle in a full landscape. I liked the contrast of the cool distant mountains and yet the warm feeling of that harsh midday desert heat 24x30 acrylic on masonite. I want to thank all those who liked and left a comment during the past five days. I appreciate all of the positive feedback! Also, thank you Denis and Marilyn for tagging me.
