Dealing With an Aggressive Dictator/Thug in the 21st - TopicsExpress

Dealing With an Aggressive Dictator/Thug in the 21st Century. Using sanctions and/or military force to stop a dictator in the 21 Century is about as ludicrous as the tactic of marching troops headlong into each other was in the 18th and 19th century and dropping nuclear bombs on metropolitan areas was in the 20th century. Why put so many good innocent people at risk when we could simple take out the thug instead? Why inflict pain and suffering on the masses in an attempt to force these leaders out of power? When Hussein invaded Kuwait, we should not have sent in troops. Instead we should have made it abundantly clear that if Hussein did not order his troops out of Kuwait peacefully, our immediate goal would be to eliminate him. Now that Putin has invaded Crimea, lets depart from the barbaric tactics of years gone by that result in so much pain, destruction, death, and suffering of innocent citizens on all sides and remove the the root cause of the problem immediately instead of using their citizens and/or our military as pawns in the process. Thugs like Hitler, Hussein, and Putin dont care if their people suffer as long as they remain in power. Lets make it clear that Putin must withdraw from Crimea immediately or we will take him (personally) out first and worry about the troops later. That is the only diplomacy that he and his kind will respond to. And if he refuses, I am sure we have the technology to follow through and eliminate him with minimal collateral damage. Lets hold leaders personally responsibly for their actions instead of inflicting pain on their citizens.
