Dear Boca Bearings, During the 4th quarter, I upgraded the bearings in both my 2wd and 4wd Short course trucks (SCT). I installed yellow sealed ceramic bearings in 2wd transmission and in the front, rear and center differentials in my 4wd. I was able to break the bearings in during my final race of the quarter and I am looking forward to running them again at me next race. In Oct. , I raced at Strickland RC Park in Daytona Beach, FL. During practice, my 4wd SCT felt odd and I was a little perplexed because I just did a complete rebuild. During the 1st and only qualifier, I realized that I only had rear wheel drive; the set screw in my the front of center drive shaft backed out. I missed the qualifier and repaired it before the main. I ended up using a set screw from a spare Tekno pinion gear. I started sixth in the main after DNFing the 1st qualifier. I ended up finishing second. I won the 1st qualifier and the main with my 2wd SCT. In November, I raced in the TNT battle at Low Country RC in Savannah, GA. I had a great time racing with my friends in south GA. I was the top qualifier after the 1st qualifying round in 2wd SCT. I made a few setup changes during the 2nd qualifier and fell to 3rd position in the Amain race. In the A-main I was in 1st place after the2nd lap. I had a great 7 minute battle with a local fast guy but I had a bad lap at around the 8 minute mark of the race. I finished in 2nd place. I was having issues with my ESC in my 4x4 sct and I was glad to complete the qualifiers and A-main. I also finished in 2nd. In December, I raced in the Toys for Tots race at Strickland RC Park in Daytona Beach, FL. There was a great turn out and many toys were donated to county. There was also some good clean racing with several of my racing buddies that I hadnt seen in awhile. Both on my SCTs handled well all day so I felt great after the race. I received a couple new kits during the holidays. Teddy has been very helpful and created two new bearings kits for my RC cars. I hope to have green sealed kits before I start building my new RCs.
