Dear Councillor Denise Michell, Glastonbury TC, How long - TopicsExpress

Dear Councillor Denise Michell, Glastonbury TC, How long does it take a trusted news source to turn a non-story into an exercise into racism, xenophobia and intolerance? Thirteen seconds with CNN correspondent Jeanne Moos. Earlier this month, Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge and baby George took their first visit overseas, and were treated to the traditional dances of the Maori warriors of New Zealand. Not satisfied with simply comparing the group to Chippendales dancers and horny emus, Moos wrapped the segment by mocking world leaders for going native. In one small segment, CNN turned a tribute to indigenous traditions and an entree to another culture into a mockery of an entire group that fed on stereotypes about ooga-booga natives. We demand CNN apologize for this segment and condemn Jeanne Moos for her coverage now. PETITION TO CNN: Apologize for your atrocious coverage of the Maori dancers performance for Prince Williams family, and condemn Jeanne Moos for her coverage. Thanks, -- The folks at Watchdog.net
