Dear Family and Friends: Albert Breceda, from Atmore Alabama had - TopicsExpress

Dear Family and Friends: Albert Breceda, from Atmore Alabama had suffered a severe stroke. After being sent to Baptist Hospital, he started making some great recovery. His wife, Diane, and daughter and son-in-law were with us. Once Albert was sent to West Floridas Rehabilitation, Diane left Marthas Vineyard with the belief she could stay with Albert 24/7. Unfortunately, she is now on my waiting list to get back into Marthas Vineyard. It will be a few days. But, she will get the next room available. We have been praying for Dale Stokes, along with his lovely wife, Patty, daughters, Haley, & Sprout, who came here on a family reunion to Monroe, LA. With ONE extra day, they came to Pensacola Beach to see the beach. This was last Tuesday. That night, Dale started having neck and left arm aches. Patty drove him to Baptist Hospital ER. This is an amazing God-cid-ence story Prayer partners: Patty is talking to Dale after his EKG, when Dale goes into full cardiac arrest. She starts screaming. The ER team rushes in, she collapses, they push her into a wheelchair, out of the room do their thing and shock Dale multiple times, resuscitate him, and rush him to the heart catheterization lab. They discover Dale needs emergency open heart surgery. Our very own Dr. Lonquist does his surgery. Dale is still very unstable. On a heart assist device called a ballon pump. Patty doesnt know if the next person who comes to talk to her is going to tell her Dale is alive or has passed away. She tells me all of this later. She said that she had purchased the tickets to the family reunion 3 months ago for her and her daughters. Dale could not go because of his work schedule. At the last minute, he got the time off to go. If he had been home, alone, no one would have been there for him when he had this heart attack. As many of you know, Dennis, my husband had a one-night stay at Baptist hospital last week. He was in room 404. Dale, when discharged from the Intensive Care unit this past Monday was put into---404. How about that? Dr. Lonquist wants Dale to stay around town for a few days just to be sure he is ok. After all, he did try to go to the BIG White House. So he and Patty are staying here at the Vineyard until Friday. They have already sent the girls home to start school. Sorry girls! We welcomed in yesterday Mary Flack, from Little Rock, AR. Her husband, James (Jay) Flack had come to Pensacola for vacation. He did not plan on a heart attack either. His quadruple bypass was Friday at Sacred Heart hospital. He is doing well, but still on life support. Mary, a retired nurse practitioner, is just lovely. They have friends over in Milton, FL. But, being close to Sacred Heart is so much better for her. We need to pray that Jay recovers quickly and with strength. Nelson Little is now extubated and breathing on his own at Sacred Heart Hospital. His family, Corey, wife, Crystal, and children, Jessie, and Amelia are still with us. We occasionally have Nelsons daughters, Angela and Erica too for lunch also. Nelson is progressing slowly. His liver function is still very slow according to Corey. Please continue to pray for Nelson. So many have either called or e-mailed me about Meg Paige-Heinzelman. Megs family was with us for 6 weeks. Meg as you recall was 34 years old, beloved wife of Jason Heintzelman, Kindergarten teacher in Crestview, FL. A very unfortunate car accident left Meg severely brain damaged. Her stomach rejected tube feedings also. Meg passed away Aug. 13. After liver cell and tissue donations, Meg was laid to rest in her Lafayette, New York childhood home city. Talked with Fran, Megs mom yesterday. Megs going away party was attended by nearly 600 people. The fire department even turned out in respect for Larry, Megs dad their retired fire chief. We knew while this family was staying with us that they were very special. Meg touched so many lives and will continue to do so with her gifts of tissue donations. Fran shared with me that Jason, Megs husband was offered his job back after Megs passing. He lived by her bedside every day. So many of you prayed for this family. So many sent cards, sent food, came by, and visited. From talking to Fran & Larry Paige, and several of Megs siblings, they will NEVER forget your acts. Thank you for being His Hands and Feet for this family. Love, Always in His Name! Marty Tackett Resident Servant Marthas Vineyard of Pensacola
