Dear Friends, (This short piece seemed to strike a chord with many people when published earlier today in our newsletter so I thought to share it with our Facebook friends too.) You were born with a gift. That gift is spirit. It was with you before your entered your mothers womb and it will be with you even after you leave this earth. Your spirit is an amazing thing. For starters, its eternal which means its the only part of you that lives forever. It also happens to be multi-faceted like a diamond. Because no matter how unique and independently YOU it may appear to be...it is always part of something bigger. Your spirit is also extremely adaptable. It can live inside your body giving it life, movement and grace and it can also live outside of your body in the spirit world after you leave this earth. Your spirit is not tied to time and place. Your spirit is curious and eager to explore all that life has to offer. After all, your spirit is life itself. It entered your body the moment you were conceived just so it could get to know your better. Yet even then, it was fluid enough and inquisitive enough to come and go, touring back and forth from the life within your unborn body and the life it had once shared with your family and friends in the spirit world. It can do this because the Before Life and The Afterlife are actually one and the same. The place we came from before we are born is the same place we go to after we die. In reality it holds no mystery because you were always part of it. Before entering your tiny body, your spirit prepared for its life on earth by doing a bit of research into where it might live; who it would share its time with. Country to be born into? Check. Parents...check. Family, siblings, date and time...check, check, check. Nothing was random or without planning and everything was designed to help it gather all the experiences and textures of life so that it could one day use its knowledge to help the world evolve and grow. And even so...it is playful enough to allow room for the myriad spontaneous and unexpected experiences of the physical world. Yes...you were born with a gift. The gift of spirit.
