Dear God, merciful Father, I pray for my father. I surrender myself to your holy will. Do what is best for my father, touch my father with your caring hands that he may be healed; speak consoling words to him that his strength may return; ease the pain that he may bear it with faith; cure him of his illness that he may do more for you; restore his health that he may serve you better. With your constant grace and loving assistance, let him understand your ways in his suffering. Let him know your divine plan in his life. From you he have come and to you he must return. I pray for those who care for the sick that they may perform their task well; give them: a heart that never ceases to love despite the constant witness of illness and suffering; hands that are always warm and caring, never holding back in indifference nor pushing away in disgust; a spirit that never ceases to serve, never weighed down by discouragement and frustrations. With your deep love and unconditional mercy; grant them: renewed understanding; abiding compassion; selfless service; faith in your word and in the teaching of the Church. I pray for all who are sick. Bestow on us the gift of yourself. May our faith endure. May we never lose hope. May we continue to trust. May our prayer ever be: “Father into your hands I commend my spirit.” I pray to you through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Remedies of Odlot and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Pray for us. This I ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.
