Dear Minister Hunt, I understand that in your position as Environment Minister in the Phony Tony Circus you feel obliged to betray every promise, undermine every standard and generally disappoint every community expectation of responsible environmental management. Given that I am sorry to have to ask but could you pause momentarily in your mindless slavering rampage of vandalism and dishonesty and consider the possibility that your wanton destruction of our precious and iconic assets might personally impact on you? Perhaps you have family (or even just others who were spawned in the same pit as you) who might want to go fishing or snorkelling or just indulge in the pleasure of personally trampelling underfoot some pristine and irreplaceable coral reef for themselves. Maybe someone you know might have gainful employment on which they rely to support their families. Surely you could stand to be remembered as something other than the arsehole who destroyed the reef? in any case I plead with you to halt the madness of new coal developments and all their attendant apocalyptic ecological impacts before the Australian People decide irrecocably to come after you and your kind with baseball bats at the next election and consign you back to a deeper circle of hell than the one you escaped from.
