Dear Minister, If I might suggest the following approach to this. 1. Call in your department heads 2. Tell them to find 10% savings and give them 7 days to do it in 3. If they fail hold a disciplinary hearing and give them a warning for failing to carry out their duty and give them 7 days to complete the task you told them to in the first place. 4. If they still cannot find the savings, hold a second disciplinary hearing and give them a further 7 days to do so. 5. If they still fail sack them. 6. Call in their the second in charge (now acting head) give them 7 days to complete the work. Repeat until either they have found 10% savings or you have sacked enough staff to represent 10% savings. There is no point having a manager who is not capable of managing, what is this the government.... oh well I guess it is. ;)
