Dear Ndi Anambra XMAS DECORATIONS & OTHER ISSUES FOR some time now, lots of ill information aimed at discrediting the good work of “Willie is Working” the Governor of Anambra State have continued to be fed to Nigerians and friends of ndi Anambra by people posting to be SSA to the Governor, cajoled and fake doctored by some known arm chair journalist. Also we are not surprised by the antics of one Victor Ene of Maxi Okwu group neither are we surprised by those who left APGA on voyage of self-denial to PDP. I wish to use this opportunity to correct some hated information aimed at His Excellency, Chief Willie M. Obiano administration in the past few weeks. XMAS LIGHTS & DECORATION CHIEF Obiano was one of the Directors that speared headed Fidelity Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Xmas deco in Lagos that has become an unwritten law. So as Executive Gov of Anambra State, he has brought that idea to bear for ndi Anambra. This is the FIRST time the state is wearing this new improved look going into Xmas season. It is not true that the Govt is spending money on Xmas decoration or has spent #650million+. What you have seen so far starting from Head Bridge to Upper Iweke and DMGS Roundabout and ALL major roundabouts in the state were done by some of the major contractors in the state. You can ask companies like IDC (The handlers of Awka Express Road), you can also make personal enquires at the office of CCC. You can also chip in some words to New Idea Construction Company OR Paul-B. They are the companies decorating our state for the Xmas as part of their CSR. They are the friends and contractors of ndi Anambra doing the decorations and paying for it. The Ministry of Local Govt under the able leadership of Hon Commissioner Chief (Mrs) Azuka Enemou is the coordinating body. She is popularly called “Orwelle nne mou”. Her ministry provided and still providing all the design, backup assistance, supervision and mapping including monitoring. Local Govt are in hot pursuits to deco their headquarters. THE banks in the state are now following led by First Bank and Fidelity. His Excellency has also directed petrol stations, restaurants and other companies to fall in line and decorate their immediate vicinity. It may interest you to know that some wealthy ndi Anambra are now asking the Ministry of Local Govt to give them areas to decorate. Zik’s roundabout at Borromeo is now being handled by a private individual. THE Xmas decorations in the state is following on the heels of the massive environmental clean-up of the state under the supervision of the Hon Commissioner for Environment, Chief Everist Uba, champion by ASWAMA—Anambra State Waste Management Authority. WE understand that this is the first time the state is wearing a new fresh look for Xmas and arm chair journalist and die hard critics of this govt will stop at nothing to continuously cast ill wind on His Excellency Chief Obiano administration. The records are there for all to check and find out the truth. THE STATE PROTOCOL DEPT. HIS Excellency ex Gov Peter Obi and our ex First Lady Mrs. Margret Obi have continued to receive the respect and dignity due to them from the administration of Chief Obiano. It is a fallacy to say that the pilot car driver and perm sec was reprimanded for carrying out their official duties as such never happened. The former first family of ndi Anambra will continue to use the state protocol services as and when they wish. The same people carried out false hood about the wife of His Excellency the Deputy Governor. I am happy that the Anglican Bishop of Awka reacted angrily to the continuous character murder of His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano and his wife to set and put the records correct. His Excellency, Chief Obiano has the right to redeploy civil servants and political appointees based on performance. As an action governor, he has been doing that hence the efficiency we are witnessing in Anambra State. Each Ministry and MDAs have target to meet and measurable perimeters have been set, monitored and evaluated. It is therefore wrong for people to publish things they don’t know simply to score a cheap arm chair publicity. If past governors were performed like “Willie is Working” the total transformation of ndi Anambra would have been so visible by now. INVESTMENTS and DONORS IT is on record that no governor in the history of Anambra State has attracted investment of $1.63billion US Dollars in less than 1 year other than Chief Willie M. Obiano, as at last week. The records are there to check at the office of Anambra State Investment and Promotion Board at Aroma Junction in Awka. You may also check what the Awka Capital Dev Authority are doing to reposition Awka as the next city to live and do business. Both are in the same office location complex at Aroma, junction in Awka. FEW weeks ago the chief internet propagandist against Chief Obiano administration alert the gullibility of the readers that The State Accountant General withdrew the sum of #8bilion naira from the MDGs project in the State. Ndi Anambra, how can that be, not even the Governor can make such a withdrawal. Please the tender and execution of contracts in the new administration of Chief Obiano is an open secret and straight forward process. The MDG project has not started yet b/c the Federal Govt agency in charge of the counterpart funding have not released their own share of the funds to the State. The total MDGs project is about #1.2billion naira. Anambra State have segregated their own contribution of #600million naira and it is verifiable by the MDG national office at Abuja. As soon as the MDG office at Abuja finish their paper work and certify all the projects submitted by the state Ministry of Budget and Planning under the able leadership of Hon Commissioner Prof Solo, the contracts would be awarded and work begin. So how can our Accountant General withdraw #8bn? WITHOUT going much further, His Excellency Chief Dr. Willie M. Obiano would always remain focus and it may interest ndi Anambra to know that he is not disturbed by all the lies against him and his wife. His response is to remain focus and do the job he was hired and elected to do. HUMILITY Finally, ndi Anambra, we hear the careless attitude of some States governors convey over the plight of their citizens. But His Excellency Chief Obiano, stopped his convey, got down and helped to attend to a hit and run victim on the public road. That is a first class emergency response b/c the accident just happened. He did not wait to call the ambulance. The emergency response unit in Anambra State is working very well and if you are in doubt the phone number to call is 122. That phone no is on the news item every day, on radio, newspapers and TV. MAY I also add that ALL members of Anamba State Exco are doing same led by our able SSG. Hon Oseloka Obaze. You need to attend some of our state function and see our SSG serving guests food and drinks.
