In fact, while I hate to be one of those godforsaken Internet trolls, your review is the most puerile reviews of an otherwise notable - if not eccentric - film Ive ever wasted five minutes listening to, so, strike against me, I know. No. Not every film by your estimation is about schoolgirls in a haunted house. House on Haunted Hill is a classic, and I think even Vincent Price knew that his films were goofy to an extent. Hausu is an exercise in form, mood and tone - its genre-busting at its finest. If you took the time to watch the supplemental features on the Criterion DVD, youd know that the director and his daughter conceived of many of the films key scenes together. Its very much about childhood fancies and fears amped up and over-the-top for the sake of a kooky movie. And BOO! This movie is nothing like the Rocky Horror Picture Show (A movie that completely looses its steam and direction after The Time Warp). No, I dont think you have to read between the lines to understand this film. In fact, theres no lines to read between, because on a purely aesthetic and visual level, this movie is all about fun, not futility. This storyline is anything but loose - its literally about a house that eats (a common theme throughout the film) its occupants and Gorgeous literally being consumed by her familys past - the pain of unrequited, jealous love made manifest. Furthermore, for you to say that Hausu ruined weird movies for you, obviously you lack the comprehension to appreciate what you term weird movies. Perhaps youre saying these things in your video just in case some dolt (like me) happens to watch it (quite by accident). I cant wait to annihilate your review of Eraserhead (maybe being a YouTube troll is going to be more fun than I thought). Perhaps the real YouTube troll here is you, Nyx Fears.
