Dear Tribal Community, I am pleased to share that we have successfully achieved yet another major milestone toward our goal of self-sufficiency, as the Massachusetts Senate today approved the revised Tribal-State Compact. Today’s Senate vote on the Tribal-State Compact, as well as last month’s House successful vote, is a significant demonstration of support for our Project First Light. I applaud Senate leadership and Senate members for advancing the Compact. This is a major development in protecting our Tribal sovereignty while at the same time protecting the economic interests of all citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We are now one step closer to brining jobs and economic opportunities to our Tribal members, residents of Taunton as well as residents of southeastern Massachusetts. I am extremely proud and thankful for our Tribal members, Tribal Council and team of supporters for the unwavering commitment to assuring the economic prosperity of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Nation and the health, education, well-being of our Citizens.
