Dear Zane, So my boyfriend and I have been together five years, and throughout the course of our relationship, his brother has been introducing him to multiple girls. My boyfriend of course is all mine. But thats blatant disrespect. He introduces them as friends but then tries to push them on him. My boyfriends brother who is gay used to constantly pick with me when we were growing because Im very high yellow and would always poke my eye to see if I wore contacts. He would always put his hands in my hair to see if it was real, so I think he might be jealous because he wears contacts and weave. And in turn, he does this. Last night, he invited his brother(my boyfriend) out and didnt invite me. (He never invites me anywhere, but even to the gym with him and all of his girlfriends, but he invites my man) I told my boyfriend he could go if he wanted to, and he did. He was drinking and stayed out, with his brother of course. And now my boyfriends brother keeps talking to him about moving to Miami, FL with a few girls as roommates but never asked me to move, btw, we all live in Michigan. How can I get the blatant disrespect to stop? Thank you, your advice will be much appreciated. MY RESPONSE: If your boyfriend is considering moving to Miami with his brother and some chicks after five years, and has not discussed you going, that says a lot. If he is not considering going then I dont see an issue. Whether his brother is jealous of how you look or not should not matter. You are not his competition. Thats his sibling and they have a special relationship that started at birth. Going to the gym or hanging out for drinks should not be something that you give him permission to do. Ultimately the blatant disrespect will continue until your boyfriend speaks to his brother about it or insists on taking you some of the places with them, at least once in a while. If you know that your boyfriend is all yours, they why be concerned about his brother having other females around. Your man is around other females every time he walks out the door. There is nothing but space and opportunity if he wants to do something wrong. And even if his brother was encouraging it and invited him someplace where there were a dozen naked women backing that thing up on mattresses, it is still his choice. Good luck.
