Dear all I had to do this let see if as a group we can help him out. Several times he has requested this and only one person remembers him so here we go with some more facts to help you remember him. Michael Arblaster I was known as Mick,Mickey,or Arby. In my class in the juniors there was a Barry Sale (he was quite thin with a very pale complection) also Jimmy Ward,Barry Ward,Roger Willetts,Jessie Gibson,Janet Painter,Lanky Allen. Also in the Juniors there were teachers Miss A.Allen, Miss Woodford,(who cast me as Humpty Dumpty in the school play) Mr Evans (who had only 3 gloved fingers),Miss Tinson (who I was in love with), Mr Eagles,Mr Shipton. Mr Richards ( who whacked my hand for saying a cockerel was a domestic animal!) I lived in Longford rd near to Eddie Ashby (who I still visit occasionally),his brother Norman Ashby,Frank Lawrence (sadly deceased) Chris Richards (also deceased), Bernard Conlon (deceased) . Girls nearby were Janet,May and Pat Conlon, Brenda Ashby, Margaret Johnson. I have very fond memories of all those people, we used to play Hopscotch,Hide and Seek,Tic Tac,Kick the Can, Coloured Water,Polly on the Mopstick all in the road. There were virtually NO cars in the road then, and no one had garages. There were gas lamp posts in the roads, pig bins on the corners of roads, and dustbins were for ashes (from your fire), dust bins were known as Miskins.Bread and milk was delivered by horse and cart. Horse muck was in abundance and my dad promised me 6d for every bucketful, although I have no recollection of him paying up.
