Dear all, You know that October is a month dedicated to provide support for those affected by women’s cancers. According to the Cancer Council in Australia, about 50 women per day are told that they have breast or gynecological cancer. This is a very sensitive social issue, but unfortunately it doesn’t change the fact that is happening around us. Most of us, women and men, have at least a family member or friend who needs our support. As a woman and as a person who represents an active and healthy lifestyle, I couldn’t exclude myself from getting involved with the Cancer Council fundraising activities and support the Pink Ribbon Day. Since, I have the opportunity to help through an online network of people my aim is to raise awareness and make a small contribution to such an important cause. In order to indicate that I’m supporting the Cancer Council fundraising activities, from today till the Pink Ribbon Day, I’ll turn all of my social media related profiles and blog into pink. As long as I run the fundraising activities I’ll have visible the “I LOVE PINK” banner to all related media and I’ll feature related material. For reasons of transparency, all the donations will be made through my fundraising online page supported by the Cancer Council. My aim is to raise $1000. Help me to reach the goal! Every little helps, so no matter the amount of your contribution, your help is very important. As the fundraiser, I put the first $5 into the account. This is a symbolic amount that everyone having access to the internet can afford. Believe me, if I can donate this amount at this state of my life, then everyone can! How can I contribute? Your contribution is very important! You can support the Pink Ribbon Day by making a donation and / or by spreading the world. Please, “like” and “share” the donation link connecting to my online fundraising page. This is the official page of the Cancer Council where all the funds deposit. You would find links redirecting to the Cancer Council fundraising page on my blog and social media profiles such as facebook, twitter and pinterest. There would be always a featured ”Pink Ribbon Day” page on my blog with all the information. There is no minimum amount for online fundraising, however please note that you will only receive a tax receipt for donations of $2.00 or more. Is my online donation tax deductible? Yes, all donations $2.00 or more are tax deductible. Simply fill in all the requested details when making an online donation (including a valid email address), and you will automatically receive an official tax receipt from Cancer Council. For any other kind of information please visit the Cancer Council FAQs page Thank you for supporting my cause! Please spread the word by sharing this page. Your help is valuable. Show your true colours Donate to Pink and make a real difference to those affected by breast and gynaecological cancers through prevention programs, support services and world-class research. This year, I’m helping Cancer Council raise vital funds to help beat breast and gynaecological cancers. You can help me, and get involved, by making a donation online!
