Dear anyone who takes the time to read this, I am not much of a - TopicsExpress

Dear anyone who takes the time to read this, I am not much of a writer, but what I am is a thinker. And as Facebook prompted me, whats on your mind? I thought I would tell you.. In an intellectual sense, we all know that life is short. But how many of us actually live our day to day lives like were really going to die one day? So many of us live our lives being vengeful and malicious and spend so much of our mental energy thinking negative thoughts; saying negative things, taking us right through to the end of each day. What a waste right? It is so easy to forget that our time on earth is finite; that each moment we fritter away is a moment we will never get back, that each moment we spend thinking about all the negatives is a moment where we could be thinking about all the positives and spend more of our energy forgiving, complimenting, sharing, helping, laughing and contributing to someones life for the better, not the worse. #2014 has seen an increase in cyber bullying, trolling and victimisation. We have seen an increase in negative and judgemental comments, slander, and the more recent trends of fat & skinny shaming. All of these things have caused, and will continue to cause a lot of problems in this world, but are yet to solved any.. (think about it). Sticks and stones might break your bones, but bullying and hurtful words may be fatal. Sadly, this year has seen yet another increase in the number of suicides. It is estimated that worldwide, someone takes their own life every 40 seconds and it is predicted that by 2020 the rate of death will increase to one every 20 seconds. How many of the hurtful things being said to each other on social media will play in this rise? Life is much too short to be unkind, to hold grudges, to hate! Stop causing unnecessary conflict. Stop creating drama where there doesnt have to be any. Stop with the hurtful words and the insults towards each other. Stop judging others by their behaviour, their appearance, their life choices. We never know when the infinite lives we believe we, and all the people we know, love and care for will end. We must focus more of our time on living our own lives, instead of worrying so much about how other people are choosing to live theirs. Lets make #2015 the year of more love and less hate!
