Dear dancers, We have such a fabulous group coming together for this. On reflection I find that classical music and Ninas approach is a fabulous way to unleash your inner writer / poet . Would you like to come ? Nervous ? You dont have to share any of your writing if that doesnt feel appropriate for you We probably have 6 or 7 more spaces ………………….. Nina Robertson and I are excited to offer this work together again - to see what happens when two of our passions, classical music and writing meet with the dance. This workshop is for anyone who is curious about their dance being stirred by musical inspirations from way before most of us were born, anyone who thinks they are not a writer and anyone who thinks they are. Anything can be a prompt …………………… When ? Saturday November 15th 2014 Where ? St Peters church Bethnal Green. St Peters Hall is located at 56 Warner Place, London E2 7AE (just south of Hackney City Farm). Closest transport is Hoxton Overground or Bethnal Green on the Central Line - or buses 26, 48 and 55 on Hackney Road or D3, 8 and 388 on Bethnal Green Road. No free parking Time ? 10.30 - 5 p m Cost ? £60 email janebelshaw@hotmail for bank transfer details About Jane I run a monthly classical 5 rhythms wave already and Im amazed at the freedom it brings to dancers. We jump out of boxes we didnt even know we were in and for a brief moment we can enter in to the worlds of some of these musical geniuses. I came across Stravinskys Rite of Spring and it articulates something I have been thinking. Classical music was often ground breaking. Apparently when Rite of Spring was performed in 1913 audiences were perplexed as it ushered in a new understanding of music and Rachmaninovs 1st concerto was shunned leading him in to depression and out again in to his amazing 2nd concerto. youtu.be/x8l37utZxMQ Come and break some of your own ground, till the soil, smash the cement of your own dance patterns. About Nina I am a fiction writer and writing group leader. My stories have been published in anthologies, magazines and on the web in Britain and the USA. I completed my MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck College, University of London in 2006. I am an affiliated member of Amherst Writers and Artists having trained with them as a writing group facilitator in 2011. And I am a 5 Rhythms teacher. I am as moved by peoples authentic movement as I am by their authentic voice. This workshop combines my two passions.
