Dear friends: Here is the full video of the Popes Vespers service (and Te Deum) at the Church of the Gesu today. Some highlights: 38:00: The Popes homily, when he urges the Jesuits to continue to row with the ship of Peter. Row then! Row, be strong, even with the headwinds! We row in the service to the Church. We row together. 1:14:00: Father Generals remarks, in which he addresses the Pope, touchingly, as Fratello Francesco, and offers the Society to the service of the Pope and the church. 1:26:00: Pope Francis prays before the image of Madonna della Strada (before which St. Ignatius prayed: normally, the image is in a side chapel) and the congregation sings the Salve Regina. 1:30:00 Pope Francis prays at a side chapel where Fr. Pedro Arrupe is buried, and blesses a new painting of the Deposition of Christ (in which a man who looks very much like Fr. Arrupe grasps the feet of Jesus.)
