Dear parents and relatives of Echo Company SIT: Subject: Mail The Company issues out mail on a daily basis (as long as the place of pickup is open and issues it to our company, for example today is a training holiday and no mail was issued; Monday is a holiday and no mail will be issued), from there the mail is issued to your SIT. With that said understand that correspondence maybe delayed both ways as all mail items/stuffs are processed through the Battalion (BN) Mailroom by the BN Mail Clerk and other external agencies for final disposition. Our Company Mail Clerks pickup and drop-off mail items through the Battalion Mailroom on a daily basis, once mail is in our possession it is issued to your SIT at the end of the days training. We do not withhold mail from your SIT. Note: Keep in mind the following factors that may affect mail delivery that is beyond our control: Distance: East coast vs. West coast. Time: Time of day mail is dropped off at post office. Volume: Due to the volume of mail received and processed by the U.S. Postal Services at Fort Benning, may also affect the normalcy of mail delivery vs. that experienced by everyday Postal Service outside our training environment. We ask that you have patience, and encourage you to continue active correspondence with your SIT as we go about our task of transforming them into Warriors. (Average time is anywhere between 3-5 days and in some case 1-2 weeks (due to sender/ human error /mail system mishaps in address information and or routing). Echo Company Staff
